OUR HISTORY

We have been committed to our mission to bring the best quality shoes and service since our beginning in December of 1940. Founder, Emerhoff Peterson, wanted quality women's shoes with fashion, sizes, and service. This is the foundation the store was built on. He catered to women with narrow feet (AAAA to B). In 1943 his son, Wayne, joined the staff and quickly became a driving force to expand the business. Soon it became apparent that there was a need for more room. In 1955 the store moved to its present location and at the same time men's shoes were added.

With the expansion, more inventory was added and a larger selection of sizes and widths could be offered. Another expansion was added in 1973 providing a double front and separate sales areas for the men's and women's inventory. Shortly after that, a third generation came into the business. Wayne's son, Mark, joined the store and continued to build on the same foundation of quality, fashion, fit, and service. In November 2000, Mike joined his father to become the fourth generation of Petersons in the business. Our experienced staff: manager, Steve – 20 years, and Paul – 15 years, along with Mark and Mike help to continue our commitment to the customer.
